Is a Varta E23 too big for my SUV, or is it the right battery?

My Toyota Prado is parked outside my building near Oud Metha, and this week it started to turn over very slowly in the morning. The battery is about two and a half years old, so I think it is time. The shop near me said to take an E23, but he did not say why, and I do not like buying things I do not understand. So I read about the Varta E23 battery full specifications near Oud Metha, and what I got from it is that the E23 is a bigger battery with strong starting power, made for larger engines. That sounds right for an SUV, but now I wonder if it can be too big. Does it always fit the space under the bonnet? Is more power better, or is it just a waste of money if the car does not need it? Also, how do I check the size on my old battery? Is it printed on top or on the side? I also heard it is smart to look at the date on the new battery, so it was not sitting on a shelf for a year. How old is too old? If you have an SUV and changed your battery lately, please tell me which one you chose, what you paid, and how long it lasted in this heat. Simple answers are best.
